1 pack of Sri Lankan Dahl (220g)
2 tbsp oil
1 brown onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tomato, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 cup of green beans, diced
Rice or naan bread optional
In a saucepan heat the oil and saute the onion, garlic & ginger for 1-2 minutes on medium heat.
To the saucepan add contents of the Sri Lankan Dahl packet and 3 cups of boiling water, then simmer gently for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After 15 minutes, add the tomato, carrots and beans.
Simmer for another 15 minutes, stirring regularly. As the lentils become fully cooked they’ll disintegrate and become more likely to stick to your pan, so keep an eye on them.
After 15 minutes, you’re ready to serve, with a side of rice or naan bread.
